GDPR BrexitThe UK Government and the ICO are issuing warnings to UK business and charities regarding the changes they may need to make to their data protection procedures following the UK’s exit from the EU.

The advice from the UK government states that if you only transact business in the UK then no action will be required and the law relating to transfers of  personal data to the EEA will not be subject to additional requirements and no changes will be required.

If you receive personal data from states within the EEA, you will need to take steps to ensure you continuing compliance with GDPR regime in the EEA and these requirements will have changed as a result of the UK’s status as a non-member.

The ICO has issued the following guidance notes on the changes.
