The UK Government has launched a series of videos portraying the the various techniques used by scammers and casting some light on the common types of scams and how they are perpetrated.
The Insolvency Service has teamed up with the Midlands Fraud Forum (MMF) to produce the informative series of videos that, whilst performed by voice actors, are genuine cases of scams that have occurred in the UK, as told by the victims,
There are 13 videos in all and cover a range of different scenarios with examples from withing the private and business sector and scams with a wide range of victim ages.
Midland Fraud Forum hopes that the series of videos will help to raise awareness of the telltale signs and uses the tag of “if only” which is a recurrent theme withing the videos to illustrate how the victims may not have been scammed “if only”.
